On-air promos for KTVU-TV, Oakland, CA.

Oakland's KTVU-TV is a major independent television station that presents a strong program of movies, syndicated series in re-runs, and news. As the sole writer-producer in the Creative Services department at KTVU-TV, my job was to promote the station's programming through means of dynamic, intriguing, and always entertaining 30-second TV spots.

Of course, while the only true review of my work for KTVU-TV would be to actually see the TV spots in order to experience the flow of the shots, the editing structure employed, the rhythm of the shots being displayed, the narrator's comments playing against the scenes with no dialogue, the music and sound effects tracks working their emotional magic, and the counterpoint of these elements working together, hard disk space and Internet bandwidth won't allow me to provide you with that experience just yet.

In lieu of seeing the actual TV promos, therefore, I have provided links to a few scripts I used in producing those spots. (Most the scripts I already tossed out.) Although these scripts are essentially notes to myself and to my technical crew regarding the timing of when to begin and end the shots I had already pre-selected and edited onto a master tape, they may nonetheless give you a flavor of my work there. To see the actual TV promos produced from these scripts, go to the Videos page and follow the links from there.
