Other writing
samples / personal projects / works-in-progress
Here are links to a few writing samples, both published and unpublished. Some are film script-writing projects that I developed on my own time, in between my full time jobs and my free-lance work. Others are personal memoirs, chapters of a biography not yet written for a life not yet lived out. As such, these samples reveal something about me, while they also indicate the kinds of things I would like to work on if I were independently wealthy or had financial support. Neither of those breaks has yet arrived on my doorstep, so I will continue to happily offer my writing and communications skills to the business world at large.
I include these samples here, I suppose, to indicate not only my personal interests, but also to demonstrate an ability to write in yet another medium, or style, altogether different from the other, client-sponsored samples on this site. Yet, what I've done here for myself is also applicable to what I do for clients, especially, for example, in the case of corporate video scripts I've written and produced.
Bottom line: I'm versatile, and I enjoy a broad range of communications challenges. While I've always hoped like every other dreamer in America to sell a screenplay to Hollywood, fortunately I have found throughout my career that there are plenty of other opportunities to be creative and useful in the marketing and corporate communications sector. I would hope the work samples I've included elsewhere on this portfolio site testify to that. After all, that's why I put together this site: to solicit work from as wide a range of clients and employers as possible.
A film treatment for a dramatic, feature-length motion picture about a college student and conscientious objector to the Vietnam War who falls in love with his draft counselor, a psychotherapist who introduces him to the controversial work of visionary scientist, Dr. Wilhelm Reich. (This treatment is the basis for my unproduced screenplay, On the Reich Track.)| Go to the Resume, at the Summary Statement section. | |||
